I didn’t begin my journey as an actor. In fact, I came to storytelling much later than most, and perhaps that’s what makes it so deeply personal to me. Before stepping into films, I was an entrepreneur, building a life that felt stable and clearly defined. Yet, beneath that structure, there were stories within me that refused to stay quiet, stories about the emotions we carry, the truths we often leave unspoken, and the shared human experiences that connect us all. Acting became my way of giving those stories a voice.
My path has not followed a conventional timeline, and over time, I’ve learned to embrace that. Starting later didn’t hold me back; it gave me perspective. It made me more patient, more observant, and more deeply connected to the characters I portray. Every chapter of my life before this one continues to inform the work I do today. Beyond acting, I am deeply drawn to writing. It is another way I make sense of the world, another medium through which I can explore and express emotional depth.
As an author, I am particularly interested in telling stories that reflect emotional realities, especially those of women navigating complexity, change, and identity. For me, storytelling is about truth, finding it, feeling it, and sharing it with honesty. Because it’s not just about expression; it’s about creating connection and leaving an impact. And in many ways, I feel like I’m only just getting started.

There’s a specific kind of storytelling that only exists in Marathi cinema, unhurried, emotionally honest, unafraid of silence between words. That’s the tradition I want my work to belong to. I get asked sometimes what it would mean to be considered among the best Marathi actresses of my generation. Honestly, I try not to measure my work against a list. What I want instead is for a performance to stay with someone after the screen goes dark, for a reader to close one of my books and feel less alone than before they opened it. If that adds up to something people eventually call “the best,” I’d rather it be said by them than claimed by me
