A persuasive phone call by Shil, a frenzy of WhatsApp messages, and the enthusiasm of meeting all my friends together made me want to go with the flow.
Tickets booked, and I was all set to visit Pondy again.
Yes, this was my third trip to this place & I must say- I found it different this time.
Maybe because of the way you look at & soak in things differ with whom you experience them.
Surprisingly, even after a long break of speaking in Tamil, I could interact & manage speaking with the auto drivers & shopkeepers in my limited dictionary of Tamil
The most amazing part of the trip was the weather, which was surprisingly pleasant & helped us make the trip more enjoyable.
Strolling through the yellow & white French colonies (some of them are in grey & white now)& along the Promenade beach in the evenings was so much fun.
We tried some authentic French cuisine & swayed to the live music played at Rendezvous
The much-talked-about Paradise Beach was truly beautiful. Tucked away from the city, we had to take a boat ride to get there. I personally found it more beautiful than the Goa beaches, which many people fancy.
The last leg of our trip was a day’s stay in Chennai, where we all shopped for pure Kanjivaram sarees to our heart’s content (Did we?) I am sure if possible, we would have shopped more.
Believe me, we were all back to our college days with the way we conducted ourselves.
Right from the oath at the Chennai airport, taken- holding each other’s hands, chatting till late night, eating at weird hours, to the way we wore our makeup & posed for pics (thank god we never had smartphones in college)
We together are like a Rubik’s Cube which cannot be complete without any one of us.
Hence, we surely missed those who could not be a part of our Merry at Pondicherry.
